MAKÜ Faculty of Medicine is starting its medical education program by accepting 30 students in the fall semester with its current 35 faculty member staff, modern Anatomy Laboratory, Basic Medical Sciences Multidisciplinary Laboratory, Histology and Pathology Multidisciplinary Laboratory, Professional Skills Laboratory, and Simulated Patient Rooms.
With the 1st Medical Education workshop we conducted after its establishment, we aimed to design a curriculum based on solid foundations that takes into account stakeholder opinions from the beginning and adopts contemporary medical education methods. In this regard, our mission is to train physicians who are committed to ethical values, proficient in digital health technologies, and research-oriented with an international standard, student-centered, and competency-based education model; to conduct scientific studies that provide innovative solutions to the primary health needs of the region and the country, and to offer qualified health services that prioritize improving public health.
Our faculty has structured its education program to align with UÇEP-2020 competencies and to complete national accreditation (TEPDAD) processes. Our thematic focus is to develop interdisciplinary research projects under the theme of "Health Tourism and Athlete Health" to increase national and international interaction in this field. Additionally, we aim to analyze the demographic and health profile of Burdur and its surroundings to develop preventive and therapeutic health policies suitable for the regional fabric.
The Integrated Education Model , which is the most preferred model among medical education programs in our faculty, will be implemented; this education model is one that ensures horizontal and vertical integration, is competency-based, student-centered, and tests the acquired skills with valid and reliable methods.
